In response to this urgent need in the lives of children, we established the Right to Nutrition programme, through which we mobilise members of the GNRC and other partners, particularly at grassroots level, to ensure that all children have access to safe, nutritious and adequate food, all year round. In this way, key drivers and root causes of poverty – hunger and malnutrition – can be effectively tackled. GNRC members from Colombia, Cuba and Mexico have initiated and carried out activities and processes aimed at alleviating malnutrition in children. Working closely with these partners, we aim to contribute to mitigating the malnutrition challenge in children which has been exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic and in turn threatens to push more children into deeper poverty.
